Installing Windows Media Player 10

1. Download Windows Media Player 10.

2. Windows Media Player will extract the installation files.

3. Read the Supplemental End User License Agreement. Click I Accept to continue.

4. If you would like to install MSN Music, an online store where you can purchase legally licensed MP3 files, click I Accept. If you would rather not install MSN Music, click I Decline. If you choose to install MSN Music, it is included in the installation of Windows Media Player 10 and does not require any additional steps to install.

5. Please wait while Windows Media Player installs onto your computer.

6. Once the installation is complete, Media Player will prompt you to run Microsoft Music Assistant , a program that enhances MSN Music service. It is recommended only if you selected to install MSN Music. To run Microsoft Music Assistant, click Run. The program installs during Windows Media Player installation and runs in the background whenever necessary. If you prefer not to install the application, click Don't Run.

7. When the Windows Media Player 10 Welcome screen appears, the installation is complete. Click Next to continue.

8. Select your desired Privacy Options. Click Next to continue.

9. Select the file types that you want Windows Media Player to play by default. Click Finish.

10. If you want to search your computer for audio or video tracks to add to the Media Player's library, click Yes when prompted to do so. Windows Media Player launches automatically after you finish the configuration and choose whether to search for viewable media.
